SDBCCC ROLLING British Car Day

  • Menghini Winery 1150 Julian Orchards Drive Julian, CA, 92036 United States (map)

Every Year we have what is called a Rolling British Car Day (RBCD), which is a chance for British car owners to enjoy driving their cars on some of San Diego’s finest Back roads. Instead of the usual car shows, where sparkling, polished cars are rolled out on the grass for all to admire, this event is about taking your cherished car out and enjoying what it does best- driving! whether it is a show car or a “diamond in the rough” with patina earned from years of use.

The premise of the Rolling car day is the same as in life ….. it’s more about the journey than the destination, to this end, we select a destination which is ideal for a picnic, for 2023 it will be in the orchards of Menghini Winery in Julian. We have selected a couple of good routes to get there on several scenic roads. To make it available to as many local British car enthusiasts as possible we usually select two starting points, one in the North of San Diego and another in the South.

This year the Northern Route starts from Carmel Mountain Road and the Southern route starts in El Cajon. There is no on-line pre-registration so all drivers will be required to bring $20 CASH to their selected starting point, and each driver will be provided with written route instructions.

This drive is about a leisurely cruise, with no prizes for arriving first, so it’s not a race.

If you would like to drive your British car on some back-roads with other like-minded car enthusiasts, bring it down at 9:00am on Saturday April 29th and be sure to have a full tank of gas …. and an empty bladder!

The NORTHERN Route starts form the center of the Home Depot parking lot on Carmel Mountain Rd, CA 92128.

The SOUTHERN Route starts form the NW corner of Parkway Plaza parking lot, CA 92020.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is the pre-cursor to our annual British Car Day (BCD) which this year will be August 13th MARK YOUR CALENDAR!!
